Today news told of first snow in Kilpisjärvi at the upraised hand of the Finnish map. It looked nice, unlike many Lapplandish pictures. Kilpi=shield, järvi=lake järki=rationality, shielded by good quality rationality, which is a good advice, but it is very north, was it only 100 inhabitants, the area varying between Finnish, Norweigean and Swedish and other nationalitues depending on who wanders there, Finns beibg a compromise but the land too narrow and too tough for it to stay clearly which area is whose.
